vision
had a very insightful conversation today with a friend and senior.
he shared a vision with me. i won't go into the details of the vision as it is personal, but i will share my thoughts as he spoke.
he started by saying it might sound crazy.
big and unusual is not crazy.
then he spoke of the basis of the vision.
that got me thinking, if God grants you a vision, it's not something out of the blue. He will always build a foundation first. a solid foundation will always make for a great work. ask any architect. the foundation of a 2 storey building is nothing to compare to that of a 5 storey building.
the thing about visions is that they always seem waaay out of proportion. always makes us feel minute and incapable of accomplishing the act. but the thing is, God sent the vision and it's for a reason. He would not have called you if not that you can handle it, if not that He is there for you. ours is to open our hearts and minds and act in faith. the first step always being the hardest as you are plunging into the unknown.
now there us something else. no matter how right the vision is, as some Nigerians would say, no matter how much it is "making sense" , that is no excuse to make yourself a vision helper. you might not share the same vision with the person. so when such a situation arises, talk to God. "am i a helper to this vision?" if a no is your answer and you feel you are too close to the person involved to keep a distance completely, there is nothing wrong in letting the person know and lending a helping hand once in a while.
now if the answer is a yes, one must still go further to ask for grace to play their part in that vision. because it has become your vision as well, and it's fulfilment rests on your shoulder.
a vision is an eye-opener. it gives you direction and light. don't hesitate to share it with people you are led to. helpers play an important role.
and always keep in mind that the glory belongs to God Almighty.
