On editorial work and other stuff

It's been hard.  Literally, my 'me time' is basically me turning off my mobile data so I can relax without guilt. I know, I'm such a bad person. Truth is, it's been quite an experience so far. Leadership is NOT what I thought it would be. It's surprisingly a whole lot of work. Half the time I wanna scream like a baby and call out all my board members one by one. Then common sense sets in of course. What I'm learning so far? This blog post was initially started two (ok, three) years ago (happy new year y'all). I still cannot believe what it's been like since then. One thing I can say for certain though is that God has done a lot in my life through my connections and especially through Christian Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria ( CMDA Nigeria ). I have learned to design, write better, edit work, organize people, work with people without wanting to throw a fit every five seconds, find rest in the midst of profound busyness and basically, t...

JOY FOR YOUR SORROW

Image
JOY FOR YOUR SORROW   I’ve hated 2020. I’ve begged for it to go away. I’ve wished it never happened. I’ve tried to erase it from the years in my life. But for some weird reason, this December hits differently.  I’ve had to basically run through most of the year on autopilot. I lost my grandmother.  I’ve been to the depths of despair.  But somehow, I’m here.  And I’ve also found kindness in the most unlikely places. I’ve received favors from strangers who have blessed me. I’ve found love in times when hate surrounded me. I’ve found forgiveness even when I didn’t deserve it.  I’ve had several discussions with God, most of which were unpleasant. I’ve faced storms that shook my faith by its foundations. I’ve lingered in the grey area between white and black. I’ve lost myself countlessly in an abyss of uncertainty.  But somehow I’m here.  I’m under no illusions about how different this Christmas would look without my grandmother in it. I’ve had doubts ...

Promises From Scripture

So, this is a segment I will do more often. Sometimes, a scripture just pops up and it speaks volumes. Today, this came at the right time. A lot is happening in Nigeria. I have been to numb to think, talk less of post. But, I certainly will. To everyone in mourning right now because of all the happenings from 20/10/2020 in Lagos and continuing to today in the rest of the country, I pray this scripture encourages you as it has me. Who has ever seen anything as strange as this? Who ever heard of such a thing? Has a nation ever been born in a single day? Has a country ever come forth in a mere moment? But by the time Jerusalem’s birth pains begin, her children will be born. Would I ever bring this nation to the point of birth and then not deliver it?” asks the Lord . “No! I would never keep this nation from being born,” says your God. Isaiah 66:8‭-‬9 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/isa.66.8-9.NLT Dear Nigerian, remain encouraged. We are making it out of this. Know that you are...

A love story

Image
A Love Story...Right? Time and time again  Chances I've taken  To Love or Not to Love But the loneliness is always so loud It wins So I gave my heart For the wrong reasons I chose to love To the wrong persons I gave my heart For feeble emotions I chose to love To the wrong hands I gave my heart For reasons I can't remember I gave my heart But, Were those really love? One or Two were friends Some I couldn't stand when emotions faded away Really, Intensity is not Intimacy Intense emotions are not love I'm learning what love is  My Love Story is still being written

LOVING RIGHT IN THE TREND"Homosexuality"

LOVING RIGHT IN THE TREND "Homosexuality " Homosexuality  didn't come up out of the blues It is a manifestation of something. Take lying for instance We lie because we don't accept the truth. Homosexuality is man exploring his restrictions. God said to man "You're free to do this, but don't" Man does not feel comfortable when he is given restrictions. He wants to explore those boundary lines. God put that freedom in man. He needs man to explore that freedom and find his way to Him. God knows the reality Homosexuals are battling with who they are, and they're exploring those lines. The task for us is to Love them You should throw in prayer too, lots of it๐Ÿ™‚ Let them see the truth in who you are in Christ. The changing is actually only between themselves and their God. You can only guide. So really, the crux of it all is Identity Crisis. Who are you? Start answering that question from how God made you. I...
